Termly curriculum overview
Parent information
Our reading and writing this term will be linked to:
The Worst Witch
In English and Guided Reading, we will be reading The Worst Witch. The children will learn to write effectively to create an immersive setting description. They will also continue to build upon and use correct punctuation and structure within non-narrative texts, such as instructions on how to create a magical potion. Towards the second part of the half term, pupils will incorporate inverted commas to punctuate speech.

Maths
This half term, the children will continue to learn formal multiplication & division methods including multiply a 2 digit number by 1 digit number and dividing with remainders. Multiplications will be visually represented in diagrams and the use of arrays as support.
In the second part of the half term, length & perimeter will be introduced. The children will learn to accurately measure and calculate the length and perimeter of 2D and 3D shapes. This unit of maths is particularly fun and practical and we look forward to the children's attempts of measuring the height of staff!
